There's a few presses to buttons across the LED display of the vending machine as the older girl listened in. Two beverages are dispensed below before hands are making a grab for them. One beverage is handed to Hinata as Yuzuha nodded & a small smile tugged along the corners of her lips. Hinata's laughs sure were contagious, one of the Shiba's favorite attributes of the other. She was like sunshine on a cloudy day, even when Takemichi had her stressed out. ❝ Don't you love when they won't actually listen until you're yelling at them? Then they wonder why you're so upset. ❞

Times like this always held a special place in Yuzuha's heart, enjoying a sunny afternoon with great company like Hinata & a cold drink. She could relive this moment a thousand times and never ask to change a thing. The top of the soda is popped open with that fizzing delightful sound before being raised to dry lips. Pair of coral eyes settled upon Hinata's face as she was asked about that big showdown. It felt like forever ago now, but she still wore her scars upon her skin as a reminder. 

❝ Oh that... yeah. ❞ there was an awkward chuckle that fell from her lips before she offered Hinata a smile in reassurance. To say she was touched that Hinata would be kind enough to check up on her when many haven't since that fight is an understatement. ❝ I'm sorry you had to hear about it, my family can be so stupid sometimes. But i'm doing better now, Hakkai too. Thanks for asking. What about you though? Other than Takemichi being an idiot sometimes, how are you? ❞ 

"I swear... sometimes he just doesn't listen!"

Hinata sighs, but that sigh quickly transitions into a laugh as she finds herself smiling fondly. She may complain about Takemichi sometimes, but even when she does, it's clear just how fond of him she is from the way she speaks - and how she can never stay annoyed for long.

But it makes her happy to be able to talk to Yuzuha like this, too. Especially when Takemichi's always hanging around with guys - having a fellow girl she can spend time with is really nice, and Yuzuha is honestly someone who Hinata really admires at that. A lot has been on her mind, lately, but... she doesn't want to burden Yuzuha with all of that, so for now, Hina decides to turn the conversation back to the other girl.

"How have you been doing? Since everything that happened at Christmas... it must've been really hard..."

❝ Top 3?! Let's go Hakkai! ❞ She was cheering at the news. She still felt like he should be in the first place spot, but that's her personal bias talking.

❝ Oh, did I actually trip you earlier? Guess I didn't notice. ❞ Not only is there a lack of apology in her response but she remembered blatantly stepping on Inui's untied laces during that Toman meeting. Annoyance of it all came through as a sharp exhale from the Shiba. One hand being placed on her hip as she looked him over.

❝ Does this mean you're part of Toman now? ❞

@barrenstars' Ran was spotted!

The aroma of coffee beans and pumpkin spiced baked goods hung heavy in the air as Yuzuha entered the cafe. The season change seemed to put her in a good mood. She gently slid her headphones off her ears to let them hang around her neck with some soft humming to the tune of the song she last listened to on her way here. Eyes delightfully looking up at the menu as she got in line. But her gaze kept flicking over from the menu to the tall guy in front of her. 

She recalled what Emma said just the other day to Yuzuha. About how autumn brings out the fashionable hot guys, or something like that. Yuzuha mostly remembered how the girls agreed over how attractive guys can be when they wear long coats & colder weather attire. A subtle rosy shade dusted the girl's face now as she took in this guy's appearance. She can appreciate the jeans and boots combination. His long hair gave even more charm. She just hoped he wouldn't turn around to find her blatantly checking him out, that'd be embarrassing.

Luckily it didn't take long for the line to move forward & she was able to order her usual autumn favorites. Now she just had to get through waiting for her coffee & muffin, hand reaching to fish her phone out of her pocket to text Emma about how right she was about the season. She had been so preoccupied with her conversation with Emma that when the barista called her name Yuzuha without properly looking just grabbed the first drink her hand felt on the counter. Eyes staying glued to her phone's screen with a small smile, but as she walked away & her lips took a drink of the beverage the taste caught her by surprise. This was definitely not what she ordered & glanced down at the cup to see a different name written across it. A spin on her heels almost led her to collide into the woman behind her who was also heading for the cafe's door. ❝ I'm so sorry! Excuse me. ❞ an awkward apology as she scanned the other coffee cups around the cafe. 

Relief found her when she noticed partial scribbling of her name across a coffee cup on a table close to the counter. Only issue was it was in possession of the individual she had been texting Emma about noticing while in line. Just her luck. As she slid her phone back into her pocket she casually strolled over to his table & waved a hand in front of him in hopes of capturing his attention. An awkward smile graced her features & a soft chuckle to boot with the greeting. ❝ Um, hi. I'm so sorry to interrupt you. I think we accidentally grabbed each other's orders. ❞ She turned the cup of coffee in her hand around to display the name scrawled across it.

@ofsavior sent: Takashi almost looks wounded as he rubs the back of his head. “What was that for?”

❝ To keep you humble. Don't you start gloating about stealing Emma's man. ❞ The bonkening begins.

A scoff in response to the fangs inquiry. Yuzuha took the moment he spent glancing around to get a proper look at him. Interesting hair... she mused to herself. Well, interesting all together, really. Light eyes honed in on the bell earring jingling with his movements & gaze lingering again on the tattoo adorning his neck. 

The fangs, his eyes, & the little bell to tie it all together? Well it was giving her feline vibes. The summary of his character through her perspective brought a ghost of a smile to tug at her lips. Had he not been talking about fighting, Yuzuha might have been inclined to tease him. But attention was quickly veered back to the topic; thin eyebrows brought to a frown. 

❝ Of course, you're looking to fight. ❞ A roll of her eyes as she finally pulled the trigger on the water gun & doused his visage in a blast of cold water. ❝ Well, how about now? Still looking to play? ❞ Sarcasm heavy & a smile of her own to boot.

" Dunno. Are they? " He retorts. Kazutora doesn't think they're that scary. Maybe it is. It's not like he would know. Although he does pause when she informs him of his location, blinking and looking around for the first time as if he's only just now realizing where exactly he is. It doesn't dissuade him, nor does the water gun. " I just wanna play ~ " He replies, sliding his gaze back towards her with a smile. " Someone's gotta wanna fight, right? "

❝ No fighting just for fun, huh? Scared you might lose? ❞ She's chuckling but honestly not very surprised that he ended up getting as many as he did.
